The council’s financial affairs are conducted in accordance with its Standing Orders and specific Financial Regulations. These are based on those recommended by NALC and conform to government legislation.
Each January the council produces an annual budget and sets the precept it obtains from the local authority (Amber Valley Borough Council). All payments are approved at each council meeting and included in the meeting’s agenda and minutes.

The council completes end of year accounts and publishes its Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) on the 31st of March of each year. Prior to 2018 these were know as annual returns. Select the year link below to see the relevant return.

The council does not own any land or buildings. It is a trustee to two charities – one for a field at Mount Pleasant, Ireton Wood and the other for the Playing Field outside the village on the B5023 opposite Jebb’s Lane.
